Apart from Twitter’s own terms of service which prohibit obvious things like harassment, transmitting viruses and spamming other members, there really aren’t many rules to the site. You can essentially use Twitter however you like.
However, for people and businesses who want to use Twitter successfully (eg: build a following and grow their circle of influence), there are a number of best practices that can be observed. I cover many of these in my book, Twitter Power.
And as I look back on my own tweets, I discover that many of them can be easily categorized. While this list is by no means exhaustive, I think it covers a lot of ground. I present you with my list of Fourteen Types of Tweets.
The Mundane – What better way to answer the question “What are you doing?” then to share that your dog is licking himself in proprietary places or that you just burped and tasted the hotdog you ate an hour ago for the second time. Full of self and without any apparent redeeming value, The Mundane tweet is the backbone of Twitter. Narcissistic and banal, it’s all about me. But don’t think for a second that the mundane tweet is not without merit. If you have any doubt to its importance, give another read to my previous post Twitter and a box of donuts.
The Communicator – Instant messaging is mostly for person-to-person communication. Forums allow more people to enter the conversation, but the process is slow. The immediacy of Twitter has facilitated dialogue unlike any Internet-based tool before. Not only can you respond to someone else’s tweet instantly, but others can enter the discussion just as easily. The Communicator tweet is nothing more than a public reply to another member. Many of the relationships formed via Twitter find their roots in this simple interactive tweet.
The Inquisitor – I learned at a very early age that one of the best ways to get answers was to ask questions. The Inquisitor Tweet answers Twitter’s question with a question of it’s own. It’s not interested in what you are doing. Rather, it seeks to use the massive Twitter member base to derive solutions, opinions or any other response that can be gathered by polling the public. Asking a question is a great way to not only find an answer, but also to stir up your followers. After all, people love to be the one who provides the solution. Want to see something amazing? Go to Twitter search and type the phrases “How do I” or “does anyone know”. People are always asking questions. Forget Wikipedia. Twitter provides a much more instantaneous and interactive method of getting answers. And if you don’t like the answer, you can always fact-check later. Which leads me to #3…
The Answerman – Are you one of those people who dominate at Trivial Pursuit and would be willing to go head-to-head against Ken Jennings on Jeopardy? You probably love answering questions on Twitter. After all, with so many people posting The Inquisitor tweet, there is no shortage of opportunity to enter the conversation and save the day. The Answerman tweet can be as simple as responding to a trivia question or as serious as helping someone locate a dry cleaner in New York City. (I understand @thedrycleaner is the guy to see. If you are able to answer a question for someone, why not do it? They will appreciate you taking the time to answer. You also score 10 Twitter Points for each correct answer. Um… well, if Twitter were a game. But it’s not.
The Sage – Want to tweet but don’t have anything particularly important to say? Looking for something more significant than “Watching Three Stooges reruns. Gosh I love Curly!” The Sage tweet is there for you. SImply find a quote from a famous author, lyrics from a favorite song or line from a classic film to share with your followers. Pithy sayings and little tidbits of information are always useful, if not entertaining. I’ve even tossed in a “word of the day” with a definition from time to time just for giggles. Uplifting, refreshing, sobering… as long as your Safe tweet evokes a response, you are on track.
The Reporter – The mainstream media can’t stand Twitter. It has making citizen journalists out of all of us. From the terrorist attacks in Mumbai and the US Airways plane going down in the Hudson to the Election sham in Iran and the death of Michael Jackson, more people are getting breaking news on Twitter than anywhere else. If you’ve got news, why not share it with your tweeples? It is important to make sure that the news is accurate. Shortly after Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett death announcements spread across the Twittersphere, some people thought it would be funny to spread rumors of other celebrity deaths. Jeff Goldblum and Harrison Ford were among the names of those claimed to have deceased. New agencies did step in to let the public know that these were nothing more than hoaxes. Of course, you can’t believe everything you read or hear in the mainstream media either, but it does pay to double-check before posting news. You don’t want to look like a Twass (That would be a Twitter Ass).
The Linker – The web is packed with fun stuff. If it weren’t for The Linker tweet, how would your followers be able to enjoy the latest LOLCats photo or Jon & Kate book news? Whether for entertainment, business or other purposes, The Linker tweet exists to share something of little or massive value with your followers. And while links to stories are powerful, rich media is even better. If you link to audio, photos or video, you have a better chance at getting people to check it out. Just be sure to tag your tweets with [PIC], [VIDEO] or [AUDIO] as indicated. It takes little effort and is frequently rewarded with replies.
The Kudo – We all need strokes. “Don’t you look beautiful today @marycomm.” “Great job on that speech @Loral!” “@dannickerson came up with a superb idea today.” Giving compliments is a fantastic way to show appreciation for someone. It’s even more impactful when done on Twitter because it plays out in a public forum. Not only does the person or business receive The Kudo, but all of your followers see it as well. Now everyone knows what a great thing they did. This is especially effective for businesses as public compliments act as social proof, potentially influencing others.
The Critic – Some live to criticize. Others do it more judiciously. Regardless, complaining is an international pastime. Being disgruntled crosses ethnic, social, economic and religious barriers. And what better place to broadcast your frustration than Twitter? Twitter provides a public forum to vent on our politicians, celebrities, businesses and each other. And while The Kudo tweet can lift a business to new heights, The Critic can be devastating and cause the target to go into damage control mode. In the past, I’ve implemented The Critic tweet to publicly lambast United Airlines for losing my bags. @davepeck has a great Twitter story featuring @southwestair and @jetblue. You have to hand it to businesses that are willing to develop a Twitter presence. They are really opening themselves up to public scrutiny. And let’s face it. If you don’t respond well to feedback or handle customer service issues properly, you could really be in for a public thrashing. I applaud companies like @comcastcares and @thehomedepot for their attentiveness to their followers.
The Giver – When someone tweets something that you think is worthy of passing along to your followers, Twetiquette demands that you retweet it. The Giver tweet seeks to give credit where credit is due by repeating the tweet and honoring the person who originally posted the tweet. The format is simple. “RT @successsecret “For myself I am an optimist – it does not seem to be much use being anything else…” Sir Winston Churchill.” The original tweet can fall into any category, but the retweet is an act of kindness that spreads good will. We should all aspire to provide tweets that are valuable enough for others to want to retweet them. Be a giver and retweet generously.
The Advocate – On your journey through the Twittersphere you will undoubtedly find people who you want to share with others. Whether they provide great tweets or add some other value, The Advocate tweet is your opportunity to suggest that other members follow them. Don’t keep good Twitter members to yourself. Tell others so they can meet and interact with them as well.
The Benefactor – People love free stuff. They also enjoy winning things. The Benefactor tweet is used for contests or giveaways. Designed to be retweeted, the goal is have your tweet go viral so that more people are aware of your contest. I recently tweeted that I would randomly give away a copy of Twitter Power to a member who retweeted my contest. Tweetaways.com has an easy-to-use system that brings accountability to the awarding of a prize. The Benefactor tweet is known to receive many retweets and can help increase your follower count quickly and legitimately.
The Marketer – You’ll notice that I saved this type of tweet for last. There’s good reason for that. While Twitter can most definitely be used to build relationships, enhance your brand and grow your bottom line, it is best not to treat it as a straight-forward marketing tool. Zig Ziglar once said, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” In order to earn people’s trust, you must seek to connect with others and bring value to the conversation. Only then will they trust you enough to receive your marketing messages. The Marketer tweet can be subtle or blatant, but its primary goal is to acquire a new customer. The tweet could be for a free download, an information product, a physical product, a membership or subscription, or just about any other kind of business proposal. There’s nothing wrong with using Twitter in this way, but realize that it won’t be effective if all you do is sell, sell, sell. You MUST participate in Twitter using many, if not all, of the styles of tweets in order to connect with your base.
The Spammer – Not be confused with a marketing message, The Spammer tweet is the tweet we love to hate. There are those who join Twitter and use it as a means doing nothing more than autofollowing as many people as possible in order to blast a spam tweet. Like email spammers, they figure if they throw enough of their crap against the wall something is bound to stick. Essentially, they take the social out of social media. They are the not engaged in any conversation. Because of this, their message falls on deaf ears and they are likely to be unfollowed and blocked by many members. Unfortunately, we are seeing more and more of this on Twitter, much of it coming from the get-rich-quick and the porn purveyors. I hope Twitter continues to develop tools to eliminate nuisances such as these. For now we can be glad that Twitter is a permission-based system and any account can be blocked.
Remember Peter Pan’s sidekick Tinkerbell? Besides being a cute little pixie, she possessed something magical: her pixie “dust”. When she sprinkled a little on someone they could take wing and fly. It doesn’t take the magic and creativity of Disney to come up with great ideas.
But it just might take a little writer’s pixie dust!
Sprinkle a little of the following on your content and watch it soar to new heights!
What is the “pixie dust of content”? It’s simple: Examples.
I don’t know of anything more useful to the education process of a reader than providing information in such a way that she can actually visualize how to use it in her own pursuits.
It’s almost magical.
Perhaps the best way to do this is to provide “examples” to illustrate your points, especially your major points.
Examples do one very important thing that your content can’t do without: they help the reader understand how the information you just shared can be applied in a useful setting.
Examples do more than simply let the reader see what you’re talking about (although they do that too!). Examples let the reader see what you’re talking about in such a way that they grasp how they can actually do what you’re talking about.
And that’s what they’re looking for.
EXAMPLE: (You had to see that coming.
If you’re writing a small report on “weight loss”, you might make the statement, “try to take extra steps throughout the day.” You might then say, “For example: Park as far away from the front door of your office building, grocery store, church, shopping center, etc. as you can to build in extra steps.”
Just like that, you have important (if not necessary) content built in to your small report. You’ve sprinkled a little pixie dust. Using examples allows you the opportunity to write MORE and create a BETTER document.
I assure you, if there is one thing your readers will love you for it is this. Adding examples into your document is something I consider to be mandatory because of their usefulness.
Try to incorporate examples for every major point you share. And don’t be afraid to share many more examples than that. I’ve never heard anyone complain to me before –
“Gosh, I wish you hadn’t made it so clear how to use this information. I would have preferred to have no idea what you were talking about.
Give your readers as many examples as you can.
It’s the stuff of fairy tales. It’s magic. And it always has a happy ending.

Of all the information products you can create, the only one that will actually get you real world publicity opportunities, position you as an expert in your field, and allow you to leapfrog your competition… is a book.
Having your own book is the one thing that instantly separates the people who are serious in the information products business from those who are just dabbling in it.
Who has the credibility…the ebook writer or the physical book author? For us in the internet marketing field we may say there is no difference. But go ask someone from the media. Or ask the normal person on the street which one has more credibility to them.
A book author is immediately seen as the expert and that expert status translates to higher fees, better publicity and JV opportunities, and more business.
I have written two books myself (”Internet Integrity” and “Financial Freedom”). Although they aren’t a very big profit center, they have been extremely important
as an anchor for the rest of my business. I have plans to begin work on the next book once I’ve finished my move to Florida.
Whenever you mention a book to people, they immediately think about ALL the work and expense. They feel it’s much tougher than it really is (and it can be tough if you make it that way, but it doesn’t have to be). It’s easy to write and self publish your own business building book. For the majority of business owners, it definitely fits into the marketing they need for their business.
My friend Joshua Seth has been helping his coaching clients to write and self publish their own books in a month. That’s from outlining the concept to having the book in their hands.
In the following article he shows you how to outline your book, how to write it quickly (without actually writing anything at all), and what traps to avoid when self publishing it.
How to Write Your Book In a Month
By Joshua Seth
I don’t have to convince you that writing a book can really boost your business do I?
A lot has been written about that already. You know that writing your own book will give you instant credibility in your field, opportunities for publicity in your business, and a way to presell your customers with educational content that will lead them back to you as the person they know, like, and trust to solve the problems you address. So why haven’t you done it yet?
Why haven’t you written a book and used it to promote your business in all these ways and more? Well if you’re like most small business owners and entrepreneurs it’s probably for one of 3 reasons:
1. You don’t know what to write about
2. You don’t know how to write it quickly
3. You don’t know how to get it out to the public (traditional publishing vs self publishing)
Let me answer all these questions for you right now using my own experience as a guide. By the way, my name is Joshua Seth and I am probably the busiest stage hypnotist in the world. I tour about 300 days a year all over the world and still found time to write my own business boosting book. If I can do it with my crazy travel and touring schedule you can too.
I wanted people to see me as an expert in my field and not just an entertainer. I had this idea to start running weight loss hypnosis seminars the day after my shows but hardly anybody came. They thought of me as a performer and that did not translate to seminar attendance.
I tried advertising but it proved to be too expensive. I tried sending out press releases but they didn’t have the desired effect. It was only when I literally wrote the book on my subject “The Weight Loss Hypnosis Solution” that I found it easy to attract press, easy to fill seminar seats, and easy to establish myself as an expert in the field.
Now I close my shows by holding up my book and talking about how hypnosis can be used for more than just fun and games, it’s actually a great way to lose weight. And I tell them about my seminar. If I don’t have a seminar scheduled, the book itself upsells them to my 6 CD self hypnosis set on the topic. If they don’t get book they can still get all the downloadable freebies on my squeezpage at 7weightlossgifts.com and fall into my sales funnel that way. Everybody wins, but without the book to establish credibility in the first place none of this would ever happen.
Here’s 7 simple steps you can take to outline your own business building book right now:
2. Agitate the ways in which not solving this problem immediately can hurt them (turn up the pain in order to motivate them to take solution oriented action)
3. List all the things to beware of when they’re looking for a solution (disqualifying your competitors in the process)
4. List the ways in which you’ve been able to provide those solutions in your business (which gives you an opportunity to provide social proof)
5. Destroy the myths and misconceptions that people have about your product or service (subtly answering their objections in the process)
6. Offer them an incentive to let you help them solve that problem and build in a strong call to action
7. Show how you have already helped other people just like them by including lots of testimonials throughout
I’ll bet you could sit down and outline your book right now couldn’t you?
Of course, you’ll have to refine and shape that outline into something suitable for your book, but the basic outline should be clear to you just from reading the 7 steps listed above. If it isn’t, then you don’t know your business or your customers well enough.
You don’t need to spend months or years writing your book. This isn’t going to be the great American novel after all. In the interest of full disclosure, I should mention here that it did take me eight months to write my book and nearly that many rewrites. The problem was that I started the process by having one of my seminars transcribed and then filling things in from there.
What I should have done is start with an outline! Having an outline like the 7 point system listed above cuts down on the work (and the rewrites) enormously. Now I help my coaching clients to write and publish their own books within a month.
One of the ways we shortcut this process is to create a strong outline first and then record a phone interview where I ask them questions stemming from their outline and follow up on their answers with more questions that create even more content. We send the mp3 of that interview to a transcription service and their answers become the rough draft of the book. No writing is necessary FPRIVATE “TYPE=PICT;ALT=:-)”
From there it’s an easy matter of outsourcing the editing, layout, and design work through elance or a similar service. Now that your book is done you’ll need to answer that controversial question…
Don’t let yourself get paralysis by analysis, just get the thing done and get it our there. You can always sell it to a publishing house later if you want to.
Here are 3 things to avoid when self publishing your business building book:
1. Don’t use a Vanity House. If you find yourself getting enticed by an offer to do everything for you in exchange for some five figure fee, splash a glass of cold water in your face and wake up. This process isn’t difficult, you just need to know where to get certain things done (such as which printing house Amazon uses so you don’t have to mess around with fulfilling orders yourself)
2. Don’t Make Your Book Too Big. No one will read it. Better to be brief and leave them wanting more than to intimidate them with your towering tome. Also, it’s cheaper to print and ship your book if it’s a little over 100 pages than if it’s twice that size.
3. Don’t Let Anyone Else Own the ISBN Number. Whoever owns the ISBN number owns your book. Make sure that person is you.
I will personally help you through the process of outlining, “writing” (through our phone interview), outsourcing, and self publishing your own book within one month. That’s right, from concept to completion in just a month.
By now you know this can change your business and your life. Because I will be holding your hand throughout this process and working with you one-on-one, I can only accept 12 people into this program.
| 10-step Guide to Get Links to Your New Website-00-2353 |

If you are the webmaster of a newly launched website, or if your website lacks the popularity it deserves, you should have a look at the following 10-step guide, which will show you how to get valuable links and improve your traffic levels and overall site popularity:
1. Use the full power of automated link management websites and directories. This is the easiest and most effective way of getting links to your website. Some great resources to start linking to other websites, go to:
o MyLinkMachine.com
o LinkManager.com
2. Place a link or invitation for potential link partners. There are many webmasters who visit related websites and some of them might want to link to you. Make sure to offer them an easy and quick solution to initiate the link exchange.
3. Use high authority websites like Wikipedia to generate traffic and increase your website popularity. Remember that quality is king on such websites, so don’t try to spam them or find quick solutions. Become part of the community and your links will be more than welcome.
4. Become a part of the blogging craze. Create your own blog (you can do that for free with services like Blogger or Word Press) and start posting on other blogs. Try to include a link to your website where the context allows it. Blog posting is effective and has the potential to send hundreds of visitors each week with only a few well written comments and some subtle links.
5. Join a few forums related to the topic of your website and become an active member. Try to create the exact same user name and password for more forums, so that you can manage your posts and memberships better. Some forums don’t allow you to place links in your messages – unless they are really valuable forums try to avoid them as they will bring little benefit.
6. Post on groups and other online communities.
7. Use social bookmarking websites such as digg.com or furl.com to generate interest in your website. The more interesting the content of your pages is, the more credit you will get from the people who determine the placement of your links.
8. Yahoo Answers is another interesting source of traffic and links. Make sure to become a real contributor to the program, not just someone who places a link without any real content.
9. Offer something of value for free to your visitors or newsletter subscribers. This will generate a viral effect in which visitors tell their friends about your website. This will lead to increased traffic, plus it will let more webmasters know that you exist, increasing the chances of a link exchange.
10. Use the full power of article submissions. This is another viral marketing tool that has the potential of generating more and more incoming links towards your website as the articles you submitted get republished on blogs and websites. You may want to register with some ezines and directories to submit your article for inclusion, such as:
This is one of the most significant questions we can truly ask ourselves in life. In this post today, I am presenting you with a choice… And your answer to this question has the very real potential to change your life in more ways than you can ever possibly imagine…
This famous line came from one of the most well-known and popular science fiction movies of all time, the Matrix. Although the movie is fiction, it has very symbolic and philosophical undertones that represent the nature of reality and our human desire to learn more about the truth of our existence. When Neo is asked whether he wants the red pill or the blue pill, he is being forced to choose between discovering the TRUTH of reality or continuing to live in comfortable ignorance… And of course, he takes the red pill and is immediately ‘awakened’ from the world of illusion he was once living in, the Matrix.
In our society today, most people are all too willing to just accept things as they appear… They don’t question the beliefs they have about the world or who they really are. And often times, our constructed belief systems become the ‘lenses’ through which we interpret reality. So what happens if (or I guess I should say, ‘when’) our beliefs and world-views are found to be wrong? Well, when we have the courage to lift up the ‘veil of illusion’ that we’ve been conditioned to believe (or in Neo’s case, wake up from the Matrix), we come to find that reality is not really what we think it is!
So when I ask you if you want the red pill or the blue pill, I’m asking you if you’re willing and open to question your true nature… Do you want to know the truth or do you want to stay in the Matrix? How willing are you to let go of old beliefs and ideas that you might find to no longer be true?
Well, for me, I definitely decided to take the red pill a long time ago. It happened a few years ago when I finally started questioning everything that I’ve been told and taken for granted as truth. I started questioning society and it’s standards and norms… I started questioning what I had been taught about ‘God’… And most importantly, I started questioning the nature of who I really was.
And I’ve been on this journey of self-discovery ever since. But just in the last few months, I’ve become more and more fascinated with the study of quantum physics. Quantum physics is literally the science of self-discovery… The study of our Source, this infinite intelligence that directs, governs, and expresses Itself through all of life. It’s essentially the science of the ‘Unseen’… how it works and operates under the veil of the ‘material world’.
So although there are many different ways and paths to discovering the Truth of who we are, I feel as though quantum physics is going to play an integral role in helping more and more people ‘wake up’ to their true nature. This is not about esoteric philosophy… This is a science that is pretty hard to deny!
So as I grow and learn more and more about quantum physics, I’d like to blog about it and share it here with YOU! I’m so excited to share this information because the more you learn about your own self at deeper and deeper levels, the more you’ll be able to literally ‘master’ this thing called life. You will become a true conscious creator of your own reality and realize more and more just how darn powerful YOU really are…
Imagine your life as this enormously powerful wave and you’re being asked to ride it. If you fight and resist the wave, it’ll be a lifelong struggle. If you just ‘fall victim’ to the wave, you’ll get wiped out. But if you learn to skillfully ride the wave, you’ll fall into alignment with life and experience the thrill, beauty, and majesty of our own existence. You’ll ‘get it’… Or what some say, you’ll be ’self-realized’ or ‘enlightened’.
This just means that you know who you are. You’ve let go of that old lens you were looking through with all of those self-limiting beliefs and concepts that caused you to suffer and kept you from your highest potential… You start to perceive a deeper Truth about yourself and everyone and everything else.
I do have to warn you though… Quantum physics is a little nutty! As you travel farther and farther down the ‘rabbit hole’ you’ll discover a world that defies the laws of classical physics (the physics of the material world), that makes no sense to the logical mind, and is so baffling, you’ll probably never see the world the same again!
But that’s the best part!
Because on the other side is where freedom lies…
So let’s take this journey together one step at a time. And today, we’ll just start with the ‘Quantum Field Theory’…
The Quantum Field Theory says that everything in the universe is made up of fluctuations of energy and information. So, essentially, this material world that we take to be so ’solid’ is really, at it’s most elemental state, ‘non-physical’. The atom is not really solid at all, it is made up of a hierarchy of states of information and energy and can be broken down into protons, electrons, quarks, bozons, and then just impulses of energy and information.
So, let’s ponder this for a moment…
Even though the world feels and looks pretty darn solid and dense, it’s not. Everything is made up of waves of energy, but even more specifically, waves of potential energy. These ‘quantum wave functions’ actually contain within them the potential for anything physical to appear!
They are essentially waves of possibilities. And the energy and information that make-up these waves are the same ’stuff’ that make-up our thoughts. (I’ll get into this in more detail in later posts.)
So as simply put as possible, we literally live in a ‘thought’ universe. And quantum physicists are now saying that it’s actually ‘thought’ that creates the physical world!
So who (or what) is actually ‘thinking’ these thoughts that birthed us all into existence??
Hehehe… Now I’ll ask you again, do you want to take the red pill or the blue pill?

PPC ADVERTISING: HOW TO MAKE YOUR BUSINESS “CLICK”
While it’s OK to think in terms of what you need on your article web page – it’s smarter to think beyond just the one page and consider the content on your site that surrounds your target page.
In other words – build a great page to rank for a keyword and surround it with good related content!
To get your page to rank on top for a competitive keyword is actually easy when you know how!
One of the best ways to do this is to create a small tightly themed web site that covers similar topics related to that main keyword phrase on your target page and keep adding fresh articles over time to keep it growing.
In this example our target web page will go after the phrase “lose weight fast” which according to Google has around 201,000 average monthly searches (it was 801,000 in April).
Chances are with that kind of search volume there are a LOT of people going after the phrase because a number one ranking for “lose weight fast” could bring in a significant amount of daily visitors – many of whom would buy things relating to the topic.
It’s also a big niche with many possibilities of products to promote. eBooks on losing weight, diet programs, food, nutrition, exercise and on and on.
For example – the current zip of 400 articles has some great ones for the weight loss – health niche… here are a few we might use on our themed site:
8-minute-workout-33.txt
20-minute-workout-33.txt
asics-running-shoes-10.txt
ball-balance-exercises-24.txt
bike-trails-24.txt
boxing-equipment-23.txt
chicken-caesar-salad-recipe-33.txt
chicken-recipes-33.txt
collagen-supplements-03.txt
cranberry-juice-detox-33.txt
food-addiction-04.txt
how-to-lose-weight-33.txt
increase-metabolism-33.txt
nutritious-recipes-33.txt
quick-weight-loss-diet-33.txt
sagging-skin-24.txt
swimming-for-exercise-33.txt
teen-weight-loss-33.txt
tightening-loose-skin-while-losing-weight-33.txt
weight-lifting-exercises-24.txt
Those are a few files from the 400 in the latest ZIP from Article Undeground for April 2009. A new one comes out on the 16th of each month. More info HERE
With 400 articles each month you could easily build all kinds of themed sites!
Of course – the way YOU group the articles you use from Article Underground is up to you… this makes it very easy to build a UNIQUE one of a kind THEMED site with your own creativity, thereby avoiding the dreaded “cookie cutter syndrome”.
OH NO… not cookie cutters… they suck!
Well… more on that below – but let’s just say that we’ll have more success with a unique site rather than a cookie cutter site.
So – in this example I picked out 20 PLR articles from the latest AU zip.
Keep in mind those 20 articles are just from one zip – as you stay a member you accumulate many articles on many topics and that makes it easy to gather your articles for your themed sites.
Look for the form : “Enter a webpage URL to find keywords related to the content on the page.”
>>> Enter in the URL from a top ranking site for your “keyword phrase”
Our example URL above – you should get results like:
Showing keywords grouped by these terms:
crock pot recipe (19), to lose weight (7), weight loss pill (7), cabbage soup diet (6), crock pot (7),
weight loss (17), diet pill (9), crockpot recipes (6), low carb (5), loose weight (5), diet (58),
recipe (28), weight (8), Miscellaneous keywords (18)
If you use the “Website Content” option Google will group the keywords for you – this is very handy as they are basically TELLING US what topics we could include on our site.
Now – keep in mind the Google Keyword tool is NOT intended to be used to help us BUILD WEB SITES, but rather to be used to select KEYWORDS for buying clicks on Adwords – BUT STILL – they are showing us HOW THEY THINK. It can only help!
Based on the page that Google analyzed – it is showing us the general themes we could use to build a site
- along with specific keywords to include on our pages – based on the top ranking page it analyzed.
In other words – the page that ranked on top for our desired keyword phrase triggered this DATA to show in the Google tool – that should help us to make our site equally as relevant or even better!
Take the TOPICS and make them categories. Grab some of the keywords and try to include them on some of your article pages.
This can give you some ideas of how to structure a site so you can go after the keyword “lose weight fast”.
If it is a blog for example – you could set up categories for:
* recipes
* weight loss pills
* diets
* low carb
etc.
Here is a little trick – something I like to do when I am researching a niche – I will ALSO enter in the actual SEARCH URL from the query on Google or ask.com
You’ll get an entirely new list of results – often with more topics to consider as categories on your site.
OK, well that pretty much wraps it up.
The idea is to create a really good web page – put your target keywords throughout the page – make sure you have text links out there pointing at your page with those keywords (and a few variations as well) and then structure your site so it has rleated articles on it.
Then keep your site fresh by adding more articles on the themes you have chosen.
You can rank on top and then build on tha success!
I hope that is helpful!
PPC stands for Pay Per Click – a popular advertising technique on the Internet. Found on websites, advertising networks, and especially on search engines, PPC advertising involves sponsored links that are typically in the form of text ads. These are usually placed close to search results, where an advertiser pays a particular amount to visitors who click on these links or banners and land on the advertiser’s web page.
In essence, PPC advertising is all about bidding for the top or leading position on search engine results and listings. Advertisers do this by buying or bidding on keyword phrases that are relevant to their products or services – the higher the bid, the higher the spot on the search results, the more the people will find the ad (and click on it) to go to their websites (this is why some people call it “keyword auctioning”). Advertisers would then pay the bidding price every time a visitor clicks through the website.
PPC advertising is also known under the following names/variations:
· Pay per placement
· Pay per performance
· Pay per ranking
· Pay per position
· Cost per click (CPC)
PPC advertising is usually done with the following standard procedures:
1. Setting up an account and/or deposit funds.
2. Creating a keyword list.
3. Choosing (and setting up) an account with a PPC search engine.
4. Bidding on the ad placement, including the search result words or phrases.
5. Writing out an ad copy.
6. Setting up the ‘landing pages’ for your ads.
7. Placing the advertisement in the search engine.
There are many benefits to Pay Per Click advertising, making it an effective way of promoting a business ‘online’. Some of them are listed below:
· Get launched immediately. PPC advertisements are implemented very quickly – they can go ‘online’ within an hour after winning the bid and paying for it.
· Obtain specific, pre-qualified, and quality traffic. PPC provides you with a quality or a well-targeted traffic. Visitors are narrowed down into ‘qualified’ people who are actually looking for specific products and/or services that you offer – those who are more likely to become a ‘lead’ (a convert) and complete a transaction (either by buying your product or subscribing to the service that you are offering.
· Widen your reach. PPC advertising provides additional traffic to your site, aside from the natural or “organic” search engines.
· Track your investment. PPC advertising makes use of a tracking system that will determine exactly who comes to the website and what they do once they arrive – the length of their stay on the site and the number of pages (including the actual pages) that they view. These are valuable tools in determining statistics such as return on investment (ROI), acquisition cost-per-visitor, and conversion rates (the percentage of visitors who are converted into customers or leads).
Below are some important things to consider when planning on a pay per click campaign:
1. Know your product. Take an inventory of the product and/or services that you have to offer (before anything else).
2. Stay within the budget. Determine your daily or monthly budget; and stay with it. This means keeping your budget in mind, avoiding bidding wars if possible.
3. Bid just right. Know how to bid right – a bid that is too high can exhaust all of your money, while a bid that is too low can make you lose that spot.
4. Watch the bottom line. Measure your profit margin against your spending or expenses. Know when to stop and terminate your PPC program – if you spend more on advertising but have little or no sales at all.
5. Find the right keywords. Decide which keyword phrases to opt and bid for. Do some keyword research, either by actually looking at existing search terms or with the use of online keyword suggestion tools, to know which terms are mostly used when searching for items that are related to your business. Focus on specific keywords, not on general ones.
6. Write effective ads. A good PPC ad is that which can persuade and move a searcher. There are several approaches to this:
· Discount offers
· Testimonials
· Celebrity/famous endorsers
· Money-back guarantees
· Free trials or sample offers
· Freebies
· Reverse psychology
· Major benefits (”Lose weight”)
· Direct instructions (”Click here”)
7. Maintain a professional-looking site. Your web content should be regularly updated and checked for spelling and grammatical errors. There should be no broken links or images. The website should be simple – designed in such a way that it will be easy for visitors to navigate and load. Include contact details to create a good impression among potential customers.
Done properly, PPC advertising can be an effective marketing tool that will maximize the return on your investment.
